What I Dreamed
Sunday morning:
My neighbor, Shawn, was a multi-car owner. Besides his stunning gold Hyundai Accent, he owned a classic, all original pickup from the 70’s. This vehicle was previously owned by someone who worked at Apple before they died, but was originally from El Paso, or some other larger city in Texas with a majority Hispanic population. This guy died in this truck while trying to jump (something) going 110mph. But when I saw it, there was no damage whatsoever, even though, as I noted, the vehicle was all original. Weird! One peek inside revealed the dude’s Apple badge sitting in the console, and Shawn’s black-rimmed glasses in the pocket under the driver’s seat. The newspaper article that reported the dude’s death indicated he was wearing a religious medalion around his neck which he believed would turn the salt in the sweat on his skin into an impenetrable shield protecting him from harm. He truly believed it worked because he used it in the past and survived wrecks.
